How to calculate Design Temperature, when Working Temperature is given for Pressure Vessels like Boiler, Autoclave, Reactor, etc?


  • The temperature used in design shall not be less than the mean metal temperature through the  thickness.

  • For vessel where direct internal heating is employed, or severe Exothermic reactions take place, the design temperature shall be +25 OC or more than the maximum temperature expected.
